  1. HR 1207: Federal Reserve Transparency Act

Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tx) has introduced this bill in February of 2009. His plan is to have a complete audit of the Federal Reserve (a private bank, NOT a government bank) and have the report completed by the end of 2010. The audit would be performed by the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

As of today, the Federal Reserve has never been audited and many Americans (including our elected officials in Washington, D.C.) have no clue where much of the Fed money has gone.

Some facts provided by "Campaign for Liberty" include:
-Since 1913 (the year the Federal Reserve was created) our dollar has lost more than 95% of its purchasing power
-The Federal Reserve has put the American taxpayers on the hook for $10 trillion in bailouts and loans
    - The Federal Reserve refuses to tell Congress which banks have received bailout funds

  3. Ok I only have two issues with what you posted. I’m assuming it was a copy/paste job.

“many Americans (including our elected officials in Washington, D.C.) have no clue where much of the Fed money has gone.”

We can’t force feed people information. There are documents detailing where money goes. They’re public records, ignorance is no excuse!

“-The Federal Reserve has put the American taxpayers on the hook for $10 trillion in bailouts and loans”

I believe Congress and politicians had something to do with that…

Besides that, sounds like a good plan.
The Fed is a Government entity, it just has privately owned parts to it.
