All of the scientific mumbo jumbo aside, whenever big business gets involved in something one has got to be a little bit nervous. It being Earth Day and all I thought this post would be particularly relevant. I came to work today listening to tons of people on each side of the "global warming" phenomenon yell at each other and become vehemently mad with one another. Is it possible though that both sides are being played as fools while big business lines its pockets with our cash?
As you walk the grocery store isles these days every product has its equal and opposite "green" counterpart. Especially when it comes to cleaning products. Clorox has its green cleaner. Palmolive has its green dish soap. So on and so on. Is that really green? I took a look at the ingredients in these products in the stores and they are virtually the same. Plus don't these companies have a larger carbon foot print because instead of shipping one product, they have to ship two and spend more gas, etc. to do so.
I'm just curious. Everything "green" these days. What does it mean?? Some of it seems a bit hypocritical. People think if they get these green products it's fabulous because it is synonymous with being good. Good citizens and heaven for bid good Americans. I think it's just another way for someone to make money. When people catch on then big business will move on to the next trend to leech onto. And we'll all be pinned against each other to argue about something else.

Going "green" is the biggest propoganda tool that I have ever seen. We have all heard of Global Warming (now called climate change). The government is using climate change as a tool to tax us even more. It surely sounds wonderful, a world of alternative energy (wind, solar, etc.). We are saving the earth for our children, right? Who wouldn't want to save the earth for our children?
ReplyDeleteThis year, the government is expected to debate over the cap-and-trade regulation. Many people are saying "this is wonderful, there will be less CO2 emmission and we will save our children!" The fact of the matter is, CO2 is natural in our atmosphere. We produce it everytime we breathe. Pretty soon the government is going to only let us breathe a certain amount of times a minute (oh yes it will be monitored). Now I am exaggerating on this.
But lets think about what cap-and-trade does. It makes our energy companies have to cut down on the emmissions of CO2 into the environment. If a company can't cut down on it, they are fined. What happens when a company is fined? They raise the rates. Who gets affected by the rates? We do! So there you have it, another tax on the American people.
To conclude, I personally think climate change and global warming is the biggest hoax maybe of all time. For those of us who did not live in the 70's (including me), it was all about global cooling! The polar ice caps were going to expand! There was going to be a new ice age. Really!? Let's use some common sense people and see what really is going on.
True that. If you ever want your side to win throw the kiddies in the mix and no one wants to say no. If they say no than they are against the kids. It's brilliant. Doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense. We got to do it for the kids!!
